Эдвард Томас (1878–1917) — английский поэт, чьё творчество остаётся тенью великих современников вроде Руперта Брука или Уилфреда Оуэна, но чьи стихи обладают тихой, пронзительной силой. Его поэзия — это медитация на тему природы, тоски, утраты и хрупкости бытия, написанная накануне Первой мировой войны, которая унесла его жизнь.
Основные мотивы и стиль
Томас — поэт пограничных состояний: его стихи балансируют между описанием английского сельского пейзажа и экзистенциальным поиском.
